Basics of Rueda de Casino Instructional DVD

Rueda de Casino is a fun, social dance straight out of Cuba. It involves couples forming a wheel (rueda) and dancing fun patterns and movements as directed by a "caller." Motions in the wheel are directly based on the foundations of Casino (a couple's dance that is essentially like Cuba's Salsa).

Sections:

1. The Fundamentals. We quickly review the basics (foundations) of Casino Salsa. A helpful guide to get you started in dancing Rueda de Casino. A key point to this dance since it's a "wheel of Casino dancers." The fundamentals overview includes the Guapea (basic), Dile Que No, Enchunfla, Vacilala, Exhibela, Adios, Ronde, Siete, and Guancola.

2. Standards and basic Rueda de Casino patterns. These are considered patterns or moves that are recognized - especially in the U.S. - by Rueda de Casino dancers. We refer to them as "universal." These include: Dame, Dame Dos, Dame Abajo, Enchunfla, Enchunfla Doble, Vacilala, Sombrero, Adios, Adios con la Hermana, Setenta, El Dedo, Montaña. Each section is demonstrated to music.

3. Rumbanana House Moves. These movements are some of our favorite that were either created in Cuba or by Rumbanana. These include Vacilala con Sabor, Dame La Loca, Estrellita, Pelota, Tumba Francesa, Tumba Francesa con Bikini.

4. Extras. Rumbanana Salsa Group dancing Rueda de Casino.

All instruction is done by Mike and Simona, directors of Rumbanana Salsa Group, and demonstrated by members of Rumbanana.
